Chef Kabui was born and raised in Kenya. He grew up around a farm where his mother grew coffee and also around his dad who owned a restaurant in the main city. He came to the U.S for college where he earned a BA in Political Science at Le Moyne Owens College and a double MA in Medical Anthropology and Urban Anthropology from the University of Memphis. He later studied in a Natural Chef Program at The Center Of Green Studies in Pittsboro. Kabui returns to Keyna often and occasionally provides commentary on a Kenyan Radio station.
